1) Mozart
2) Beethoven
3) Schubert
4) Haydn
5) Schumann
6/7/8/9) Debussy, Ravel, Berg

or sth…

These are actually composers of which I like quite a bit of works… and
more importantly more so than any of the others’ it seems…

I mean maybe I should add Schönberg or Bach…

But it’s only a few works of them i like…

Schönberg we have variations for orchestra op 31, string trio op 45 at
the top probably…

Then unlike chamber symphony 2, moses and Aron is very interesting and i
like some of it so far, odd choice: string quartet 4, violin concerto…
omg… and some more

Okay add Schönberg, Bach and Webern…

Of Brahms I really only sort of like the Händel variations, second
movement pc1, ehm… a part of the third ballad op 10… it’s a very
beautiful part in an otherwise really shitty piece… okay and I guess
some movements of the violin sonatas maybe - but not really… oh and a
part of sonata 2… in the slow movement I think… since I only like parts
of his music and most of it not… screw brahms… early Brahms >> late
Brahms

Hmmm… listened to Volodos again in 117 and 118 yesterday, and also to
Gould‘s…

Is there anything as beautiful as this moment in op 116-118?

And this is the part I liked in the second sonata:

Or this part of his Händel variations- which might be the most beautiful
thing Brahms wrote:

I don’t know they - op 116-119 - make me fucking tired… maybe because
they’re heavy or sth.. sure they are probably Brahms‘ best works, but
would I want to play them?… hmmmm… I also don’t like the colors too much
here… these pieces are fine as lullabies maybe… will relisten…

You have Schumann‘s Kinderszenen, Kreisleriana, Davidsbündlertänze and
Papillons… so I’d probably rather play Schumann or Debussy etc…

But yeah I guess Brahms will stay one of my fav composers for some of
his early works, as well as 116-119… and the violin sonatas probably…
the rest I don’t care too much about…

These works alone rank him far above Chopin, Mahler, Tchaikovsky,
Rachmaninov etc and even debussy and ravel i guess…

Wrong richter performance…

This one is probably better:

But ya op 116-119 are way better… I believe there are also more
beautiful moments in these pieces

But I still think the part of ballade 3 i linked is probably more
beautiful than any of the music in 116-119… let’s see…

Nono anymore —, should relisten to Messiaen, maybe also relisten to some
