Not me. You need to check your memory.
My memory worked fine in this case, but it seems someone was

Listened to Fricsay's Don Giovanni last night again, then compared bits of it to Maazel. Omg, how could I say firstly that Fricsay's Don Giovanni is not too good... and secondly even say that Maazel's might be a bit better... I feel deeply ashamed of myself and am red from tip to toe, as melmoth recently said about himself about sth else. After Klemperer, Fricsay's Don Giovanni is - imo - the best by a very wide margin. And I think you hit the nail on the head again with those two recs in the past. I knew both of them before though, but my comparison between Klemperer and Fricsay was a few years ago. To Maazel I listened more recently. I was quite puzzled when I first thought that "you" recommended Maazel. And after recently learnign you had perfect pitch, I genuinely thought it might have to do with the singers hitting the right frequencies ;D
Had to get this off my chest, sorry ;D In my general reverence of Fricsay's Mozart ;)
Maazel is very bad... he is fine in the sense that Klara Würtz's Mozart is (from what I heard from both).
Anyways, in general I think I like your recs concerning the "past" and older generation of artists more than of recent artists... dunno... just saying in "general" ;D and it's just my opinion ofc... it's also my general preference, I guess. Can't seem to get into the younger generation that much... as of yet...
