Are there any old broadcast interviews with Fritz Reiner? The only time
I've ever heard him speak was in the movie "Carnegie Hall". He has a scene
with Heifetz where they talk about the hardships of a soloist's life. If
you buy the DVD of "Carnegie Hall" you can scroll through some pictures of
Reiner relaxing by the pool at his home in Connecticut.

I've only heard 3 examples of Reiner speaking in addition to the
"Carnegie Hall" film. Steven Temmer interviewed him during the '57-'58
CSO season that was broadcast on WBAI in NY. There's also an interview
with Downes during a Met-Opera broadcast intermission. Then there's
the early '50's LP sampler issued by RCA where Reiner touts his recent
CSO recording of the Beethoven Seventh Symphony.

Gary's replies are all I know about.
