I am trying to sort out a collection of Acoustic Volpi recordings namely. I
believe these are mainly Brunswick in origin. These are on an old reel which
has sadly parted with its labelling - through time. A quick search has
turned up nothing on the net. I have the RECORD COLLECTOR for December 1989
which has info on the non-commercial items he did. Can anyone send me the
issue numbers plus dates for these discs. On playing the reel the
Brunswick's seem to be very forward in their recording. I suspect that these
have appeared on lp at some time

Quest o Quella
La donne........
Ah si ben mio
Di quella pira
Mamma quel vino
Un id all azzuro spazio
Quando nacesty tu
Lascitemi amar
Mamma mia che vo sapete
Carmela
La mia canzone
Ideale
Serenata(Mascagni)
Luna d'estate
Cielo Turchino
Manella mia
O sole mio
Meco all'altar
A te O caro

Please help!!!!

I have a set of five CDs called Giacome Lauri Volpi Tutte le
Registrazioni effettuate in Studio, the second CD has the
acoustic Brunswicks (NY 1923)., there are 20 on the CD.
The CD set is from CLAMADisCo "Edizioni del TIMAClub"
from 1992. Not all the selections have listed matrix numbers
on the CD, all are dated 1923.

The authority on Brunswick Records is the four-volume discography by
Ross Laird, published by Greenwood Press. The British Library, with
its superb collection of things discographical, will have this. (Or
just order it from Amazon if you have an extra GBP210 handy!)

Thank you guys. I can put Lauri-Volpi to bed, or rather in the space
reserved for him.

Danny.
