Fav composers:

Mozart
Beethoven
Bach
Haydn/Schubert

-- I also appreciate quite a bit of Schoenberg, Berg and Webern. Have to
listen further. But generally I'm fucking done with most composers...

11 named composers in random order: Brahms, Schumann, Mahler,
Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Haydn, Schubert, Schoenberg, Berg
and Webern.

So you got an 11 sided die from the game store?

I want to add that I prefer Schumann, Tchaikovsky and Mahler over
Brahms.

Also prefer Haydn over Brahms…

I should maybe add that I have (aesthetical) problems with Mahler,
Schumann and Tchaikovsky, but they’re more interesting to me… if I had
lived at that time and were a composer, I probably would’ve been more
inspired by the music of Schumann and Tchaikovsky and also Wagner than
Brahms (and Mahler too, but he came pretty much at the end of Brahms‘
life)… so if I would’ve wanted to write - say - a symphony I would’ve
looked at Wagner to be inspired by… not Brahms…

Rather sth like Mahler's music, likely sth better - since I would have
primarily composed and not bothered conducting as much as Mahler ;)

You have little imagination. Go listen to that brat Uehara.

too much shite...

Certainly Brahms above Tchaikovsky...

but... I like Schumann and Mahler more than Brahms it seems... really...
there is not much in Brahms I like - especially not as much as things I
like in Schumann or Mahler... Brahms is quite tedious, like everytime I
lsiten to him I get fucking sleepy, and his music feels like a warm
blanket being pulled over me.... I mean would you take your gf out to a
brahms piano concert?... or a symphony`? Fuck no - same with Bruckner...
or yes... Wagner... Not me at least... and Mahler neither... except for
Symphony 4, Rückert-Lieder and LVDE probably... Wagner on piano
though... I think it can sound good... But as we all know, Hamas-Herman
took his gf out to see Bruckner. No sex that evening.

In his pcs... those massive orchestras - it sucks so bad, doesn't work
at all, trying to hard... omg... and no, I don't think Mackerras Brahms
is the way to go...

I know I've been through this before, but I gotta say - again -, I
actually prefer Brahms over Mahler, but generally, I don't like both too
much... Schumann I guess I like best of them all (romantic era)...

The only composers that composed pieces I like from beginning to end
(and who btw also added something new) are Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and
Schubert... and likely also Haydn... apart from these, I really only
like to listen to more modern stuff and some Schumann is also alright I
guess... Scriabin is also interesting in some ways maybe - should
probably relisten...

Prokofiev no thx, Rachmaninov no thx, Tchaikovsky no thx, Sibelius no
thx, and all the other names that pop up in my head... no thx... Bartok
no thx, Wagner no thx, Schostakovich no thx... Chopin no thx...

moments which I think are more beautiful than any of Brahms'... so I
guess Mahler...

And I think even Tchaikovsky has more beautiful moments... like... it is
interesting what Brahms does, but it never grabs me... or seldom it does
grab me... sure there is much about Tchaikovsky that irritates me often,
but at least there is sth that grabs me... Brahms is just...
interesting... from the distance, like "even" the second viennese school
has stuff that grabs me more than anything Brahms wrote, even Wagner
wrote stuff which grabs/grabbed me more at least in some ways...

But I still think I'd rate Brahms a little over Wagner (as there moments
in Brahms' works which grab me as well - and more intimately); don't
like Wagner too much, similar Brahms for different reasons.

So fav composers:

1) Mozart
2) Beethoven
3) Bach
4) Schubert

And then I also like some: Haydn, Schumann, maybe Tchaikovsky, maybe
Mahler, probably Scriabin, Schoenberg, Webern and Berg.
