Am I the only one who wishes that there was a separate category for historical performances considering the flood of big boxes in recent years which are for the the most part recordings from the past?

Wild Up is a fabulous ensemble and Stay On It was completely new to me. That and Uchida's Diabelli Variations are probably the ones in the list I've enjoyed the most.

Some of these are well worth hearing once at least. Appl's Winterreise is polished. I enjoyed Hamelin's CPEB much more than I was expecting -- partly because I am starting to appreciate the composer more and more. Leonskaja's Mozart finds the roses and then lets you smell them, which suits me, and it's nicely recorded too. The problem is rubato -- so suck it and see.
