Discussion:
"Cortot's recordings are more numerous than those of any pianist of his era except perhaps Arthur Rubenstein."

Some portions of these were published in EMI's 40-CD Cortot "Anniversary Edition" in 2012. "Les Adieux" from 1958/59 was published complete, along with the first movement of the "Appassionata" and the second movement of Op. 90. Excerpts from several others Including the "Pathetique" and "Moonlight" were published with Cortot's commentary from the piano. In addition, in 2005 Sony published a three-CD set of Cortot master classes with excerpts and commentary from Sonatas 26-28 & 30-31. Still no complete cycle of Beethoven sonatas, with or without commentary, though.
