Why is it on FIVE blu-rays???? at 99 Euro?

Seems obvious to me that the five discs is a means of justifying the price. I’m certain all nine symphonies could fit on a single Blu-ray. After all, The Takacs Quartet fit all 16 string quartets on a single disc.

Noticed these are from a cycle of live concerts in 1970 from the BBC,
not the EMI recordings.
Six hours of so of HD 1.33 black and white video doesn't fit
on a single Blu-Ray disc and requires a higher bit rate than that.
Remember that Blu-Ray has a mere 6 times (50G) greater storage
capacity of DVD (8G) and 4 times the maximum bit rate (40m ? vs 10m).
Since HD requires 4 times the space as DVD, Blu-Ray has only
50% more time available than DVD. So it is right to have
multi-discs for this Blu-Ray issue.

As for the engineering:

"The mono recorded original recording was analyzed and adjusted by
specialists according to frequency ranges, so that each instrument
was worked out individually for its role in the overall sound: the
depth and height ranges are expanded and the violins and in particular
the oboes refined.  This first-class restoration of a unique
contemporary testimony thus offers experts and music lovers a special
treat of tonal authenticity."

Perhaps this means fake stereo and spotlighting. It would be fine
if it included the original sound as an option but typically monkey
engineers are opposed to including the originals because comparison
causes criticism of their work.

Another question, did BBC film the concerts with multiple cameras,
and are these discs presenting the concerts as originally broadcast?
If there were orginal films from multiple cameras available it would
allow the video to me "remixed" with quick edits, and with the
addition of remastering with zooms, pans and other newish video editing
techniques it might resemble something shown on our contempory TV
channels. Monkeying with audio implies monkeying with video.
